Borussia Dortmund may have a 100 percent record at the Westfalenstadion this season, but their away form is a cause for concern. Nuri Şahin’s side have suffered six consecutive defeats away from home this season, conceding 18 goals in that time.
Prior to a 3-1 defeat against Mainz 05 in their last away game in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund were dumped out of the DFB Pokal after losing to Wolfsburg in extra time. Kehl and Co. will be looking for a response on Wednesday night.
“We are not living up to expectations” – Sebastian Kehl
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl addressed the club’s poor away form prior to their journey to Croatia ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb.
“We have talked about it a lot and have had to listen to it a little at both meetings in the last few days. Our away record this season is not good,” said Kehl.
“We are not living up to expectations at the moment, but of course we are going to Zagreb to get something. We want to take the support of our fans with us tomorrow.
“Even though it will certainly be very heated, we believe that we are ready and that a win will prepare us well for the game against Bayern Munich.”
