Manchester City looked set to sell Sergio Gomez two seasons after signing the Spain youth international, with their €15m move from Anderlecht failing to work out. Their starting options are in Spain and Italy as things.

Real Sociedad had been reported as the favorites for his signature as they look for a replacement for Kieran Tierney and the injured Aihen Munoz. City are looking for 15 million euros to allow him to leave as well, and La Real have tried to reduce the price, but MD say that AC Milan is also interested in him. Meanwhile Matteo Moretto reports that Rome they have now inquired about him as well, as well as one or two other Spanish teams – Real Betis have also been linked with a move for a left-back.

It looks like things are getting complicated for Real, and they may have to return to Javi Galan from Atletico Madrid, who was there on loan last season. The former Celta defender is worth €10-12m to Atletico, but clearly Gomez is a much longer prospect due to his age.
