Sevilla lost their talisman over the summer, with Youssef En-Nesyri joining Fenerbahce in a deal worth in the region of €25 million. Almost lost another key player in Loic Bade, although the French defender ended up staying at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Bade accepted the club's decision not to sell, and was rewarded for it with a new contract. As reported by Diario de Sevilla (via Relief), the 24-year-old central defender, who played for France at the 2024 Olympic Games, has signed a new five-year deal, which will run until 2029.
The deal is closed, and the announcement is expected to come soon. As part of the deal, Bade's release clause is expected to remain at €60m – a figure Sevilla would be happy to receive, although they would likely accept significantly lower if some clubs came calling again again in 2025.
Bade is expected to be an important player for Seville during the tenure of Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, whose reign did not get off to the best start – two draws and two defeats in their opening four games.
