talkSPORT's Simon Jordan has insisted Eddie Howe deserves another season at Newcastle after what he has achieved.
Newcastle They have not looked the same as the one that finished in the top four last season, suffering from an increase in matches this year.
The Magpies played in the Champions League for the first time in 30 years, but fell in the group stage, finishing last in a group containing Paris Saint Germain, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
Injuries have been cruel for Howe this season and key players such as Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are facing problems.
The loss of Sandro Tonali, ultimately for most of the season, due to a playing ban also came at an inopportune time for Newcastle.
However, there has been talk that Howe could be replaced at the end of the season with the Toon struggling for a top 10 finish, let alone a top four finish.
However, Jordan believes Newcastle would be foolish to leave the English manager so soon after what he has achieved and believes he has earned himself at least another year.
He said: “I think he deserves another chance to continue the build. I think Newcastle will finish in the top 10.”
“It's not a success compared to what they had last season, but it is a degree of stability.
“If they can launch that and buy better players to continue their progress, then I think it's worthy of another season.
“But I still have the same opinion: if the end goal, if Amanda Staveley wants to open her mouth and tell people that they are going to win it all, she needs to describe how they are going to do it.”
Newcastle were beaten in a rollercoaster match at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. Chelsea They emerged 3-2 winners.
Nicolas Jackson scored first to put the hosts ahead before a fine finish from Isak leveled the score before the break.
Howe Side Saw Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk scored before Jacob Murphy grabbed a late consolation to make it just one Premier League win in four games.
It has left Newcastle in 10th place in the table and the chances of any European football next season now look unlikely.
There has been talk that the St James' Park side may have to sell players to comply with PSR rules this summer, with Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almirón linked with departures.
