talkSPORT's Simon Jordan says Sir Jim Ratcliffe is “absolutely right” to tell Manchester United staff to return to work in the offices.
The Athletic report that United co-owner has ordered non-playing staff to return to its Manchester and London offices to end its work-from-home culture.
Companies across the country saw many employees begin working from home as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
But former Crystal Palace owner Jordan believes it is essential for staff to work in the office and applauded Ratcliffe for his decision.
When anchor Jim White read the news on White and Jordanhis co-expert said: “Come in, Sir Jim, absolutely right!”
Jordan went on to explain, “Every adult knows that you get more effectiveness, more culture building, more work ethic, more diversity of thought, more diversity of experience if people are in a workplace.
“The ones who don't think that are the ones who want to work at home because it fits their lifestyle, and that's fantastic. Life is, I guess, like a bit of a poop sandwich, the more bread you make, the less poop you have.” you eat.
“I normally use a different word there, but you'll see I've adapted it for radio…
“You are going to work to be successful and have a better life.
“There is no doubt in 95 percent of professions that, to achieve results that develop the individual, to meet their expectations of the work environment and, of course, the company's expectations of them, be present, where you are can monitor, train, committed, concentrated and with work discipline, instead of ordering a Domino's pizza, scratching your balls and waiting for Amazon delivery.
“That's not the way most sensible business people think is the way to operate.
“Well done Jim, because you need a culture and quite rightly that shows adult thinking…football shouldn't be immune to it.
“Disciplines, focus, culture, perspective, work ethic, motivation… boom, it all starts from there.”
White later claimed it wouldn't be a problem. United better on the pitch, but Jordan insisted: “No, but you are building a major asset in all aspects of the football club.
“So if the culture is right… every window through which you look at Manchester United should be the view that Manchester United want you to have of them.
“That should mean that your players should have the right work ethic, the right culture, the right disciplines, your coach should have well-fitting suits and your business staff should be in the business, running the business properly and effectively. “Well done, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.”
Then he added: “If you're self-employed you can do whatever you want but if you work for me, get to work, thank you very much.”
While Ratcliffe envisages a restructuring of the workforce culture at United, he will also oversee the change in the playing team.
Reports claim that the club is willing to listen to offers this summer for all but three of their players: Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
However, boss Erik ten Hag said such speculation is 'a joke' and it is “false.”
