Bild reports that Hamburg have already found their replacement for Tim Walter just over a week after sacking him. The man to replace Walter is former 1.FC Köln boss Steffen Baumgart.
Baumgart will be given a contract at the club until 2025 and he is expected to lead training for the first time on Tuesday before being presented at a press conference later in the day.
The task for Baumgart is clear, stabilise the team and make sure their return to the Bundesliga at the sixth time of asking. Hamburg currently sits third in the 2.Bundesliga four points off of the automatic promotion positions.
Previously at Paderborn, Baumgart helped them earn promotion to the Bundesliga, whilst trying to do the same feat with Hamburg will be even more special as Baumgart is a fan of HSV.
Other managers have been linked to the job previously with Johannes Thorup of FC Nordsjælland and Jon Dahl Tomasson previously of Blackburn.
