Steve Bruce could make a shock return to management – as coach of Jamaica.
The 63-year-old has not worked since he was sacked by West Brom in October 2022 after eight months in charge at the Hawthorns.
However, Mail Sport understands that Bruce, who has also managed the likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday, has held talks with officials from the Caribbean country.
A decision is expected within the next 10 days and the former Manchester United defender is a ‘serious contender’, sources have disclosed.
The Reggae Boyz have been without a boss since Heimir Hallgrímsson resigned at the end of last month.

The 57-year-old, from Iceland, stepped down after a 3-0 loss to Venezuela saw his side end their Copa America campaign pointless with three straight defeats.
Bruce, who has previously said that he is itching to get back into football, has managed more than 1,000 games at 12 clubs.
Only five managers since the start of the Premier League have taken charge of more matches.
Jamaica’s early exit was viewed as a major disappointment. Their squad included Premier League stars Michail Antonio, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Ethan Pinnock.
