Kobbie Mainoo's moment of brilliance sealed Manchester United a dramatic stoppage-time victory in a seven-goal thriller against Wolves.

It looked like Man United had squandered all three points when they conceded twice in quick succession, meaning the score remained 3-3 when Pedro Neto equalized in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

But Stepping Up was Mainoo, who collected the ball just outside the Wolves area, fired past Max Kilman before delightfully caressing the ball into the corner of the net to send the traveling Man United fans at Molineux wild.

Of Mainoo's goal, Gary Lineker said: “Wow! What a finish and what a prodigious young talent Kobbie Mainoo is.”

This fan said: “This is him… or whatever! MAINOO IS THE REAL STAR! MANCHESTER UNITED BEAT THE WOLVES AT MOLINEUX.”

As talkSPORT's Mark Goldbridge rejoiced: “Come in! Come in! Kobbie Mainoo, a star is born. Yes, yes!”

“Come in, there is a God!”

Rashford had earlier scored and helped set up Rasmus Hojlund after being penalized by coach Erik ten Hag.

He called in sick on Friday and was excluded from the squad for Sunday's FA Cup win at Newport after going drinking in Belfast last week.

But it was an excellent comeback from Rashford, with United, who move up to seventh in the Premier League, inflicting Wolves' first home defeat since September to end their seven-match unbeaten run.

Rashford was reportedly downing shots of tequila during his bender in Belfast and music officials on Thursday clearly saw the funny side, playing Terrorvision's hit Tequila before kick-off.

But the England striker is enjoying Molineux and last season the 26-year-old was benched for arriving late to a team meeting before scoring the winning goal.

This time it took him only four and a half minutes to start his new redemption arc.

When Bruno Fernandes imitated Alejandro Garnacho's low shot, Wolves were in trouble, and the situation got worse when Hojlund lifted the ball and gave Rashford the edge of the area.

The forward then hit a nice shot past José Sa for his third goal in his last four games.

United, with two wins in their previous eight league games, belied their poor form with a brisk start and Casemiro shot wide.

Wolves, however, managed to find some momentum, with Matheus Cunha threatening, only for the visitors to end any recovery with a second goal after 23 minutes.

Once again Rashford was involved as he collected Garnacho's pass and slipped an overlapping Luke Shaw to deliver a low cross for Hojlund to head past Craig Dawson.

This prompted United fans to chant 'Rashford is in the p***' as they cheekily saluted the striker.

Casemiro headed Fernandes' free kick wide and Hojlund almost embarrassed Sa when he pounced on his clearance, but the ball bounced wide.

The openings kept coming with Raphael Varane firing over and Hojlund's celebrations were cut short a minute before half-time when he had a goal disallowed for offside.

In added time Casemiro also had a header disallowed and one-way traffic continued after the break when Dawson blocked Fernandes' shot.

It had been Wolves' worst performance of the season, but they almost pulled a goal back after 49 minutes, only for Kilman's header to be cleared off the line by Lisandro Martínez.

However, United stayed on top and Wolves survived when Toti lost possession to Garnacho, but Sa avoided his blushes by saving Holjund's effort.

There seemed no way back for the hosts when André Onana face saved Dawson's deflected shot, but they found a lifeline in the 71st minute when Casemiro hit Neto in the area.

Sarabia buried the penalty, after a lengthy VAR check, but United responded just four minutes later when McTominay, with his first touch, headed into Fernandes's corner.

However, the hosts refused to sit still and Kilman fired in from close range to make it 3-2 with five minutes remaining after Dawson's shot was blocked.

It was believed that Wolves could equalize and they did so in the fifth minute of injury time when Neto fired in on the break.

But a chaotic finish was capped by Mainoo's stunner when he mounted two challenges and curled into the bottom corner in the seventh minute of added time.
