Stuttgart would have been sweating over the fitness of Deniz Undav after Julian Nagelsmann placed the forward on the bench against the Netherlands due to muscular problems, but last season’s Bundesliga runners-up have since given the all-clear.
On Tuesday afternoon, VfB tweeted: “After a day off on Wednesday, Deniz Undav is set to return to full training on Thursday and will be available for Bayern Munich on Saturday.”
Undav (28) already has seven goal contributions (six goals and one assist) in 10 games across all competitions for Stuttgart this season and is an integral player following the departure of last season’s top scorer Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund.
Not only that, but he’s also becoming an important player for the Germany national team. He scored both goals for Nagelsmann’s side against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Undav now has three goals and one assist in his last two games for Germany.
Stuttgart have failed to win in their last three games across all competitions with three successive draws: against Wolfsburg, Sparta Prague and Hoffenheim. While Vincent Kompany’s side also find themselves in a similar situation with their 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa sandwiched between draws against Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt.
