According to Fabrizio Romano, Stuttgart are considering the potential signing of Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana.
It is understood that the Swabians consider the 21-year-old a possible replacement for Deniz Undav, who has been denied the chance to return to Stuttgart this summer by his parent club, Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, the Bundesliga runners-up will face competition as Leicester City are also closing in on signing Fofana, while Villarreal have also stated their interest in the striker.
It is believed that Chelsea will allow the 21-year-old to depart this summer on loan, with an obligation to buy clause inserted into the deal.
Nevertheless, The Atheltic are reporting that Chelsea would prefer offloading Fofana on a permanent deal rather than on a loan.
For Stuttgart, while Undav is undoubtedly their number one target, like the German international, Fofana does have experience playing in the Bundesliga, having featured 17 times for Union Berlin last season, scoring two goals and registering one assist.
