- Aston Villa Vs. Crystal Palace – Sat, Nov 23rd 2024, 15:00
Aston Villa have received mixed injury news ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.
Ross Barkley and Matty Cash are both expected to return to the fold having missed out due to injury before the international break.
But Ezri Konsa, Amadou Onana, Jacob Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara are set to miss the encounter against the Eagles.
Konsa and Onana returned early from international duty with England and Belgium respectively, while Ramsey and Kamara sustained injuries in our 2-0 defeat at Liverpool before the hiatus in domestic action.
Ahead of the clash, manager Unai Emery provided a team news update at Friday afternoon’s pre-match media conference.
“Overall, when I’m looking around us and other teams, they have injured players as well, even tomorrow maybe Crystal Palace,” said the Spaniard.
“We are in the same routine, we are playing with some players, more or less, after they are injured or maybe some players doubtful for tomorrow or maybe some players out.
“Tomorrow Konsa, Amadou Onana, Kamara and Ramsey.
“We are adding other players after small injuries, like Cash and Ross Barkley in the squad for tomorrow.
“We are going to try and feel confident with the players we have in the squad, and we are working with every player trying to be ready when the opportunity to play is coming for them.
“Support them, help them, try to play in the same structure we are building the team and in the process we are, and try to get the best performances.”
Asked how long he expects Konsa and Onana to be unavailable, Emery replied: “They both have small injuries and they have to rest and recover.
“Each day is very important, tomorrow they are not available, maybe they could come back in the next match. But we have to focus with the players we have now.”
