Julian Alvarez was one of the big money moves of the summer transfer window as he swapped Manchester City for Atletico Madrid. However, he had a slow start to life at the Metropolitan, with just three goals scored in 11 appearances in all competitions.
Because of this, Alvarez has come in for criticism, although Atleti remains very confident in him that he will do well. Rodrigo De Paul, who is teammates with La Arana at club and international level, spoke a little about it (via MD).
“It is not easy to change clubs. It can happen to all of us or in any job. It is not easy to change countries, movements, family and things. It is a step that will make him grow a lot. He knows that he count on us, on me. We are here for him.”
Alvarez scored on his last Atletico Madrid outing against Real Sociedade, and also scored for Argentina during the international break. He seems to be getting his shooting boots back, which will please both Diego Simeone and himself.
