Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich confirmed that his decision on his future will not be dragged out much longer. Since last spring, Kimmich has been in talks with Bayern over a new contract, which expires next summer.
Often linked to Barcelona and Real Madrid, neither moved for him last summer despite the needs in his position. Kimmich has allegedly identified five teams he will leave Bayern for, including the Clasico duo, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. The 29-year-old is likely to face his last major contract, and under Vincent Kompany he has returned to a key role, playing every minute of his 19 games this season.
“I will not wait until the summer. I can sit in the winter and try to see the bigger picture. In January, I will make the right decision,” he mentions AS Diary by the player himself.

Meanwhile, sporting director Christian Freund sounds positive about the prospects of a deal.
“We are in good negotiations with Kimmich and Musiala. Of course, our desire is to close the agreements as soon as possible, but the most important thing is that in the end there is a positive result and that they are extended. It does not matter a week before or three weeks later. We are positive in both cases.”
Neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid seem willing to make a decision on the position in the immediate future, which could take Kimmich away from them. Unless Los Blancos decide to move forward with adding a midfielder to the base of their midfield, which could mean a departure, Germany or England seem like more likely destinations.
