The DFL have announced that the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga broke its record for the selling of match day tickets last season.
The 2023/24 season saw a five per cent increase in ticket sales across the top two tiers in German football. The figure for tickets sold last season was 20,737,276. The 2022/23 season saw 19,755,465 sold.
The average number of tickets sold per game was 33,885 tickets, this also saw a new record for average attendance in German professional football.
When looking at the two leagues individually, the Bundesliga saw 11,925,726 sold in total with 38,973 tickets sold per game. This means the Bundesliga remains as the leader in Europe’s top five leagues when it comes to average ticket sales per match. The stadiums in the Bundesliga also saw an average of 95.2% occupancy.
The 2.Bundesliga saw 8,811,550 total tickets sold with 28,796 being sold per game. This was a 30% increase compared to last season.
