Real Betis have struggled this season, although Manuel Pellegrini's job has always been secure – and has been so for almost his entire four-and-a-half-year spell at Benito Villamarin. However, there will soon be a time when he will leave the club.
Pellegrini is now 71 years old, meaning he is coming to the end of his managerial career. However, Betis will not be his last job, as he told ESPN (via AS Diary) that he wants to manage his native Chile.
“I am only coach of Chile, not of another team, although maybe later I will regret it. I like to manage the clubs more than the national teams, without having the players for a single week. I would have to meet with a management to put together a program for the development of Chilean football, not going to put your head on the resume.
Betis Pellegrini will be missed when he eventually leaves, although he has been an excellent servant since arriving in 2020.
