The former midfielder of Barcelona and Juventus questioned by the police for crimes of a sexual nature in Chile
Form Barcelona, Juventus and the Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal he was questioned for a crime of a sexual nature, according to reports in his native country of Chile.
The 37-year-old was taken to the police station for an unspecified sexual crime, police Colonel Gerardo Aravena confirmed on Monday evening in Santiago de Chile.
“He was transferred to the police station in the context of the first procedures and investigations in order to carry out identity tests and then he was able to continue with his activities,” Aravena told local media, as referred to from Chain Cope.
Vidal was released and has yet to be charged with any crime. The incident happened in a suburban town of Santiago, Vitacura, where Vidal and his Colo Colo teammates were celebrating their victory over Deportes Iquique and the birthdays of Lucas Cepeda and Vicente Pizarro.
Aravena continued to confirm that the incident is related to a group of athletes, and that the crime under investigation is of a sexual nature, but did not give more details. No arrests have been made, and Colo Colo has yet to make a statement on the matter.
