The General Manager of Real Madrid to face an investigation on “environmental crime” due to concerts
General Manager of Real Madrid and by all accounts, one of the masters of its success in recent years, Jose Angel Sanchezwas named in a formal complaint about a potential “environmental crime”.
Sanchez is also the General Manager and only administrator of Real MadridThe sister company of the Real Madrid Estadio, which carried out works around the stadium and renovations of the Santiago Bernabeu. Chain Cope report that a complaint has been accepted by a judge, and will now be investigated.
Sanchez and RME will now be required to provide all the studies carried out on the potential sound pollution that could be caused by the many concerts at the Bernabeu during the summer. After numerous noise complaints were presented to the council between April 26 and July 15 following concerts by Duki and Taylor Swift, the group “Victims of the Bernabeu” filed the complaint.
They allege that Sanchez and RME are guilty of violating an urban planning law for lack of soundproofing, hence the requests for the relevant documents.
This is the latest in a battle between local residents around the Bernabeu and Real Madrid. Two complaints have been submitted to the European Court of Justice for environmental issues, while in recent weeks, Real Madrid has agreed to limit the number of concerts to 20 per year. Los Blancos have also agreed to put in place soundproof sheets for the concerts, but it remains to be seen how effective it is as a method.
