Real Madrid will sign a new centre-back this summer to compensate for the departure of Nacho Fernandez. Their primary target is Lille's Leny Yoro, and the good news for Los Blancos is that they are closer to securing his signature.
As reported by Relief, Lille have given up hope of receiving 60 million euros for Yoro, their original asking price. Real Madrid had no intention of paying this amount for a player whose contract expires in 2025, and the Ligue 1 side have now relented – they are now willing to accept €50m for the 18-year-old .
Now, Real Madrid is willing to pay no more than 40 million euros for Yoro, although the current deficit of 10 million euros could be compensated with add-ons. Negotiations between Los Blancos and Lille have not yet started, although they would soon.
Yoro would be a top, top signing for Real Madrid, especially as he will lock down a starting spot for the next 10-15 years if he arrives. He will initially be behind Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba in the pecking order, although he would certainly bounce back to quickly earn a starting spot.
