Mason Greenwood a shock transfer move to France could be proposed this summer.
The 22-year-old is set to leave Manchester United in the coming weeks after his return from a loan spell at Getafe.
Getafe have always declared their openness to bring Greenwood to the club next season after being named the player of the season in 2023/24.
Club president Angel Torres has indicated that talks are ongoing with Uniteddespite the rumors that Getafe withdrew from the race, but the situation is not resolved.
Previous reports indicated that Italian trio Lazio, Napoli and Juventus were following him and could be open to offers in the region of €40m.
However, according to the latest update from The AthleticMarseille have opened preliminary negotiations with United, and Greenwood is keen on a new challenge.
Getafe are in a position to only be able to afford a loan, but Marseille could pounce to lure Greenwood away from Manchester permanently.
