Defender of Barcelona Michael Faye arrived with plenty of hope that he could turn into a major prospect last summer, and six months later the teams were already willing to offer a profit of 600% on the Senegalese. However, with a number of major teams interested in him earlier this summer, if they are to sell, then Barcelona may be tempted to hold on to him for longer.
Ace for Sport, RC Lens are set to return in a second offering for '19 this summer. They initially offered a loan deal for Faye in the January transfer window with a mandatory purchase clause of €9 million. Now the Catalan press has referred to reports in Senegal that say Lens will return with a bigger offer this summer.
Elsewhere, fees of €25-30m have been mentioned for the impressive youngster, who arrived for just €1.5m last summer from Croatian side NK Kustosija. It was confirmed that Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund scouts watched Faye live, and no doubt if those sides are willing to make a move, Barcelona will want closer to the €30 million mark than €9 million. Given Barcelona's plethora of central defenders, and their economic situation, Faye seems like a prime candidate to leave.
