The manager previewed the Barclays WSL clash with the media, discussing key topics ahead of the game.

Here’s what she had to say…

On Rachel Daly’s suspension…

“First and foremost, we accepted it. Rach accepted it. If you look at Rach’s disciplinary record, it’s exemplary. It’s not something you usually see from Rach. But I think we need consistency… you would argue other big moments in other big games have gone unpunished and unnoticed. But that’s for the authorities to discuss.”

On team news…

“Dan Turner is back in the squad, which is excellent. That’s big for the group, she’s been training with them this week. She’ll be on reduced minutes, but she’s back in contention which is excellent news. Sadly, Ebony [Salmon’s] been off all week with a viral bug that’s flying around. She’s a doubt. Kenza Dali’s a doubt… she took a massive whack to the ribs [against Brighton] and it’s been causing her some trouble. She’s a major doubt which is a big problem for us. This group stick together, they roll their sleeves up and get on with it. That’s exactly what we’ll do this weekend no matter how many we have available.”

On Dan Turner…

“She’s quality, we know that. She was probably one of the standouts last season. She’s got an abundance of experience and quality. She’s someone that leads the backline. She’s got pace, she’s got power, she’s got the ability to pick passes. She’s someone we’re delighted to have her back.”

On Tottenham…

“First and foremost, [Robert …] has done a good job since he’s come in. They’re playing a different way but since that game at Manchester City they’ve adapted. They’ve created less but they’re conceding less opportunities in and around the box. We’ve identified where we think we can hurt them, but we’ve got to be worried about their threat as well.”
