Much has been made of the 'BMV' link in recent weeks, with Real Madrid's new star trio seen as Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Rodrygo Goes was exempt from this, although he made his claim to return to the acronym in “BMVR”.
Rodrygo seems to be focused on less than the aforementioned trio, and this does not sit well with his entourage. According to Ruben Uriah (via Sport), are keeping a channel open to interested clubs – one being Manchester City – as there is an element of expectation that the 23-year-old will eventually leave Real Madrid next summer.
“Rodrygo has no desire to leave Madrid, but the people around Rodrygo do (want him to go). And those people have to leave an open door because they know it's a difficult year in sport. Next year , leaves Real Madrid.
“Call it what you want, but Rodrygo next year is not in Real Madrid. For him, recognition is important, and it is a blow to be omitted from the “BMV”.”
Rodrygo is obviously a fantastic player, but there is an argument to suggest that he should not be untouchable at Real Madrid because of the type of striker he is – especially when compared to Mbappe and Vinicius. A lucrative sale in 2025 could benefit all parties, and allow the progression of Arda Guler.
