Real Madrid have a knack for moving their younger players, with Rafa Marin and Alex Jimenez leaving the club permanently during the 2024 summer transfer window. The next player who could follow is Erik Vazquez, although if his imminent departure will only be on loan initially.
As reported by Nil Sola (via ED), Gerona are close to agreeing a deal for Vazquez to join until the end of the season. The teenager is regarded as a very bright talent at La Fabrica, although he has struggled for playing time with Alvaro Arbeloa's U19 side over the course of the current campaign.
It remains to be seen if there will be some sort of buyout option included in the deal for Vazquez. If so, Real Madrid no doubt they will try to keep the opportunity to re-sign, or at least include a sell clause, as they have done with many other youngsters in recent years.
