Real Madrid are reassessing their summer plans after their main remaining target, Leny Yoro, informed him that he would sign for Manchester United. The 18-year-old surprised Los Blancos, and a move to the Premier League is expected to be completed soon.

The Spanish and European champions were convinced that they had convinced Yoro to sign for them, and that he would reject other offers to force a move to Madrid. Their intention was to sign Yoro on the cheap, as he is out of contract next summer, and felt they could force Lille to do a deal for less than €30 million, as his offer, knowing that Yoro will reject Manchester United.

The latter had an offer of 50 million euros plus 10 million euros accepted, and from there, Brand cites two key reasons for Yoro's decision. The first was money, with Yoro earning far more at Old Trafford than he did at the Santiago Bernabeu. The second is the pressure applied by Lille. The newspaper of Madrid questions the determination of Yoro to sign for Los Blancos, and says that he gave in under the pressure of threats from Lille, who were willing to send him to the stands for a year.

Other reports say that Yoro will receive a five-year deal and an annual salary of around €9 million per year. At only 18 years old, Yoro could be set for life, although he would not be poor even at the Bernabeu. It's also worth noting that Yoro started life in Spain as fourth choice, behind Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba, while he held his own to win a starting place under Erik ten Hag.
