After Bayern Munich’s 3-2 loss to Bochum, Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) reports that the relationship between midfielder Joshua Kimmich and head coach Thomas Tuchel is now broken.
At the full-time whistle at the Ruhr Stadion, it was reported that Kimmich and Tuchel’s assistant Zsolt Low got into a heated argument and this was the latest episode in the increased tensions between the midfielder and Tuchel.
There had already been issues brewing beneath the surface in the summer when Tuchel’s aim was to sign a defensive midfielder, a role Kimmich believes that he can play in.
More recently, the 29-year-old had injured his shoulder and worked continuously to be fit for the game against Leverkusen. However, Tuchel opted for Aleksander Pavlovic and Leon Goretzka instead. Bayern would lose the game convincingly 3-0.
His ‘leadership’ role under Tuchel has also changed. Under predecessor Julian Nagelsmann, Kimmich was a key player under the coach and acted as a satellite between the coach and the pitch but under Tuchel that is not the case anymore.
All of these events have now caused Kimmich to consider leaving Bayern in the summer. Recently a host of clubs from PSG, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been linked to the midfielder.
