The Spain centre-back is expected to make a big-money move to Qatar

Captain of Osasuna and international of Spain David Garcia is closing in on a move to the Middle East this summer as Los Rojillo take their last chance to land the veteran.

After talks with Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, it seems that Al-Rayyan in Qatar are now the best place to sign the 30-year-old. Relief reveals that if their offer, now at 7.5 million euros, is increased a little more towards the 10 million euros they are asking for his signature, then it will probably be accepted.

Should the move happen, Sporting Director Braulio Vazquez has already lined up Alaves defender Abdel Abqar as his replacement, although any deal is dependent on the sale of Garcia being able to afford it.

Losing Garcia will be a big blow for Hi. He was all set to be part of Spain's Euro 2024 squad before an injury in the spring ruled him out. In recent seasons, Garcia has been a stalwart at the back for Osasuna, although Abqar is a strong option to replace him, based on last season's performances.
