Laura Woods may return to our talkSPORT studios sooner than expected after a Freudian slip live on TNT Sports.
forest is the new face of TNT Sports after joining sports broadcasters in the summer, but old habits die hard for the former talkSPORT star.
while presenting city of manchesterThe Premier League clash against Aston Villa On Wednesday night, he got into a bit of a pickle and greeted us in the process.
Introducing himself at the start of the programme, he said: “The title race takes center stage as we reach the halfway point of a mammoth midweek Premier League on talkSPORT.”
It's not much missed on social media these days, and sure enough, the moment quickly went viral as Woods expertly addressed his mistake toward the end of the show.
“Tomorrow there will be more football, Liverpool vs Sheffield United and Chelsea against manchester united“he said at the end of the night's action.
“Don't forget, you can enjoy it all at once on the brilliant Discovery Plus app, but it may not be there for much longer because I said talkSPORT.
“So they might fire me very soon!
“They're (talkSPORT) up there so hey guys, I'll get back to you straight away.”
speaking with a smile Fernando River and Joleon Lescott, then added: “Are we talking about Aston Villa? Nowadays you can't get staff.”
Woods leaves talkSPORT studios in an emotional farewell last summer where tears were shed.
He had spent three fantastic years at the radio station, forging fantastic relationships with both his co-workers and fans, as well as with Ally McCoist on The Breakfast Show.
Woodsy said in his farewell speech: “There are just a couple of final things I wanted to say. Whoever gets this job next, whoever has the pleasure of sitting in this chair, I don't think I realized until I got it what an impact you can have on people's lives.
“That has been the most important thing I have learned: the power of this station, this chair and the people you work with.
“This job is the best thing you will ever experience. The people you can talk to, wherever you go, this station is just a shortcut.”
And while Woods may no longer be part of the talkSPORT team, he's still doing a fantastic job for us because he was right: WE DO have a massive week of live football here on talkSPORT.
Tonight you can listen to Liverpool vs Sheffield United and Chelsea-Manchester United on talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 respectively.
Then on Saturday talkSPORT will broadcast exclusively City's trip to Crystal Palace, which has already provided drama in the title races (remember Crystanbul?)
We'll also be providing live coverage of Aston Villa vs Brentford and Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest before the week is out.
