Thomas Tuchel brutally honest after Bayern Munich’s defeat against Borussia Dortmund

Speaking to press ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga tie against Heidenheim on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel spoke openly about his situation when asked about giving the impressing of being a frustrated figure of late.

“I didn’t want to seem frustrated at all,” said Tuchel. “But okay. Of course we want the competition and the quality and the opportunity to achieve some things tactically. To do this you need competition and alternatives in several positions that can change a game.”

Tuchel then admitted: “I am super dissatisfied with myself and with how we unfortunately played again against Dortmund. I thought we were over it and wouldn’t take a step back.

“But at the same time I know that some things may not work out the way you want them to.

“There’s no reason to hide, there’s no reason to mope, there’s no reason to complain. We just keep going, going, going. We tried to push the team again. And I won’t let anyone, including myself, out of responsibility.

“Going through it all the way to the end with a broad chest and head held high. No matter how strong the headwind is.”

Tuchel has already conceded the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen with the Rekordmeister currently 13 points behind Xabi Alonso’s side with seven games remaining.

Bayern Munich will be without five first team players for their trip to Heidenheim before they travel to London for their Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
