Bayern Munich’s 1-0 defeat against Lazio in the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday night is their 10th loss under Thomas Tuchel, as many defeats as his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann.
As per Opta, Tuchel has lost 10 of his 43 competitive games in charge of Bayern, which is as many defeats Nagelsmann suffered in 84 games in charge of the Rekordmeister.

Bayern Munich’s defeat at the Stadio Olimpico means they’ve now lost successive games for the first time this season. The Rekordmeister registered just one shot on target in their 3-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, while they failed to register a single shot on target against Lazio.
But while Tuchel has received criticism, he’s received the backing of club bosses, and players. Despite Bayern’s defeat in Leverkusen, the plan has always been to see out the season, and that appears to be the case here. The Rekordmeister aren’t looking to release Tuchel anytime soon.
When asked in the mixed zone post Lazio defeat whether Tuchel was the right coach for Bayern, Thomas Müller closed down the “disrespectful” question, stating that everyone at the club “stand together.”
Five points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern face Bochum, RB Leipzig and Freiburg in the Bundesliga before hosting Lazio at the Allianz Arena in the return leg in three weeks time.
