Thomas Tuchel is set to achieve a prestigious management milestone should Bayern Munich beat Arsenal in the Champions League this Wednesday.
The second leg in Munich is perfectly poised at 2-2 with Arsenal looking to reach the semi-finals for the first time since the 2008/09 season.
However, should the Bundesliga side prevail, Thomas Tuchel will become only the second manager in Champions League history to reach the last four with three or more different teams.
Only José Mourinho has done that with FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid.
Aside from personal accolades, this is Tuchel and Bayern’s last chance to win something this season.
If they fail to win the Champions League, it will be the first time in 12 years that Bayern have gone a whole campaign without winning something.
Last weekend, the Bundesliga was wrapped up with five matches to go by Xabi Alonso’s impressive Bayer Leverkusen.
Additionally, Bayern were knocked out of the DFB Pokal by third-division side FC Saarbrücken earlier in the year. Alonso’s B04 face 2. Bundesliga outfit FC Kaiserslautern in the final.
