Three reasons why Zinedine Zidane will not return to Real Madrid as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti
Manager of Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti is under increasing pressure after his poor start to the season was compounded by a 4-0 dismantling at the hands of Barcelona. Someone before talking about his future was heard after the defeat, and the name of Zinedine Zidane he was also raised in relation to a potential third spell at the club as manager.
According to Chain CopeThere are many reasons that Zidane is unlikely to be seated in the Santiago Bernabeu dugout. First of all, while Real Madrid will expect a reaction from Ancelotti, there are no plans to fire the Italian in midseason.
Second, Zidane himself is not thinking about a comeback. Many expected him to be already by now, but even after Didier Deschamps extended his contract until the 2026 World Cup, Zidane still has his heart set on the job of the French national team whenever he becomes available.
Thirdly, the terms that Zidane left the Blancos were not ideal. His exit came as a surprise to the club, and his public letter claiming he left because he didn't feel he was being given the tools he needed did not go down well at the Bernabeu. While the relations with the president Florentino Perez are probably calmed down, he would need a big repair job in a short time.
Although Perez is known to have sacked managers mid-season, as Julen Lopetegui, Rafael Benitez and Sporting Director Santiago Solari can attest, it would be a big surprise if he were to do it again this season. There are no obvious candidates to take his start, and the rumored eventual replacement Ancelotti Xabi Alonso is unlikely to leave Bayer Leverkusen midseason.
