Guglielmo Vicario 6/10 Helpless against all of Arsenal's goals and could rightly regret the lack of protection from their defence. Saka's brilliant save in the second half kept things respectable.
Pedro Porro 7 He gave little in defense against Trossard or, later, against Martinelli. He bombed forward as Spurs chased the game, but the cross left a lot to be desired.
Cristian Romero 8 At times he seemed to have a one-man mission to win the derby. He punished Raya's carelessness and should have scored two more in a thunderous display.

Dejan Kulusevski 7 Always a threat when carrying the ball, although he sometimes lacked poise in key moments. He kept coming but couldn't create the chance to equalize.
James Maddison 6 He never ceases to intrigue but is rarely allowed to occupy the pockets in which he wreaks havoc. I had an early vision of the goal, but he went wide.
Timo Werner 6 He attempted to advance down the left in a lively start but injury limited his afternoon just after the half-hour mark and he was replaced by Johnson.
Son Heung Min 6 The bearings went wrong when given the chance to give Spurs a lifeline before the break. Produced locally but too late to cause historic change.

Arsenal
David Raya 6 An extraordinary mistake breathed life into the second half as Arsenal looked home and dry. He regained his composure to solidly handle the subsequent barrage of pressure from Spurs.
Ben Blanco 7 He played well against tough opponents like Werner, Johnson and, later, Son. He supported Saka when necessary, but Arsenal's early lead limited their need to push forward.

Guillermo Saliba 7 The usual combination of strength, speed and composure ensured that Spurs made little progress through the middle. He held his own in a chaotic late spell as the hosts threw over the kitchen sink.
Gabriel Magalhães 7 He repelled the flow of Spurs crosses throughout the match and, alongside Saliba, refused to falter in the final moments. I enjoyed the fight with the hot new threat of substitute Richarlison.
takeehiro tomiyasu 7 He pressured Højbjerg into scoring an own goal and could have added one later. He had his hands full with Spurs' wide players, but he defended well one-on-one.
Martin Ødegaard 7 It's not the captain's cleanest performance, but his pace and energy are very important for Arsenal. It seemed to have led them to a comfortable victory before the second half drama.
Thomas Partey 6 The range of passing from deep was effective at times, as was his solidity at the base of a fiercely contested midfield. Sometimes straying in possession; Overall, a mixed display.
