Tottenham and Man Utd look for Ederson against Liverpool

manchester united and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly sought out Atalanta midfielder Ederson dos Santos against Liverpool last week, according to a report from HITC.

The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Italy at the end of the season, and Manchester United and Tottenham appear to have increased their interest.

HITC claims officials from both clubs were present at Anfield on Thursday night to keep a close eye on Ederson. The South American had an impressive performance against Liverpool in his European League win and the scouts would have been impressed with his performance.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United follow up their interest with an official proposal to sign the midfielder in the summer. They need to bring more quality in the middle of the park. The Brazilian could prove to be an upgrade on the likes of Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay.

Ederson would be a quality addition

Ederson would add control, composure and defensive cover to the United team. He would also help creatively. The Brazilian midfielder has the physical and technical qualities to shine in the first division and could be a key player for Manchester United.

Likewise, Tottenham also need to incorporate reinforcements in the midfield. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a departure from the club and the Danish international will have to be replaced. Ederson seems the ideal acquisition and would also fit well into Tottenham's attacking football.

It is valued at £26 million Transfer market and both United and Tottenham have the financial resources to agree a deal with Atalanta this summer.

The opportunity to join big Premier League clubs would also be an attractive proposition for the midfielder. It would be an exciting step in his career, so I'm sure Ederson will be waiting for United or Spurs to formalize their interest in him this summer.
