Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Dominic Solanke and have entered into advanced talks with Bournemouth on the signing of the striker.

Ange Postecoglou recently said the forward department was the “smallest” in his Spurs squad. Solanke has emerged as the club's preferred candidate and personal conditions are not expected to be an issue.

The owner of Bournemouth, Bill Foley, confirmed This summer, Solanke's contract until 2027 included a buyout clause of around £65m and the expected departure would be a club-record sale. Nathan Aké's £40m transfer to Manchester City in 2020 was Bournemouth's biggest previous exit.

Postecoglou gave Spurs the go-ahead to sign Solanke after the 26-year-old's career-best season. He scored 21 goals, including 19 in the Premier Leaguebut he also attracted attention for his pressing statistics and link-up play.

This long-awaited move to Tottenham would give Solanke another chance at a top-six club, having progressed through Chelsea's academy as a teenager before leaving for Liverpool in 2017.
