Tottenham Hotspur begin talks to sign Monaco right-back Vanderson

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Monaco right-back Vanderson in search of a potential transfer this summer as a replacement for Emerson Royal, according to SPORTS GIFT.

Spurs are already working hard to try and strengthen their squad ahead of the summer window and numerous players have been linked with a move to north London.

The last one is Vanderson with SPORTS GIFT reporting that Tottenham are targeting the 22-year-old as a replacement for Italy-bound Emerson Royal.

Royal is closing in on a £20million move to AC Milan, which will free up space and also provide Spurs with funds to repay his right-back position. GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that Vanderson has been tipped as a potential option for that role.

The report adds that Spurs have already started the first negotiations for the two-capped Brazil international, who is also of great interest to the likes of manchester unitedNaples and Barcelona.

Vanderson is contracted to Monaco until 2028 and is valued at £30m, according to the report. The South American would be an excellent replacement for Royal if Spurs could agree a deal.

Spurs eye Vanderson

Pedro Porro has been the undisputed choice as right back for Ange Postecoglou with Emerson as a substitute. The Brazilian is now set to move away from the club and the report claims that Spurs are having some “options in the works” to fill the role.

One of those options is Vanderson, who has been one of the best right-backs in Ligue 1 since arriving from Brazilian Gremio in 2022.

His performances for the red and white earned him international call-ups for the Brazil national team and the 22-year-old is now attracting a lot of interest across Europe.

Tottenham's classification for the European League This means they will play more games than last season and adding enough depth to their squad is essential.

With Emerson gone, signing Vanderson would be smart business on the Spurs' part, as the right back will not only battle Pedro Porro for a spot in the starting lineup next season; It also means that the north London side have two of the most promising right-backs in the world for the coming years.
