Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of concerns in the offensive department, with all players having to spend some time on the sidelines only halfway through the campaign. Richarlison and Wilson Odobert were out for a long time, while Timo Werner, despite being fit and available, was absolutely lackluster in the final third.
Having signed Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky last weekend, Tottenham remain on the lookout for any suitable transfer before the January window closes and have recently been linked with manchester united's Mark Rashford. The Daily Mail has reported that the Spurs are considering acquiring him, although only a loan would be possible.
Rashford recently opened the door to leaving Old Trafford for a new challenge and has also fallen down the pecking order at Ruben Amorim, making the prospect of a January move very likely. The 27-year-old has also been linked with AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, although Tottenham would also be strengthened by his arrival this month.
Rashford is a good short-term solution
Tottenham Hotspur have been extremely below standard in the first division this season and only the cup competitions have been Ange Postecoglou's salvation. He needs a team with greater depth and the signing of Marcus Rashford would be a great addition to the left flank, especially considering that Son Heung-min has also greatly underperformed.
A loan would mean that Spurs would get a fantastic player, who has proven his worth in the Premier League, and who would possibly also share their £300,000 weekly salary with Manchester United. It is true that the Englishman has not been in his best form this season, but he is still a great player who still has his best years ahead of him, after having been described by Erik ten Hag as “unstoppable” not long ago.
Rashford could also be open to a move to Tottenham as he will remain in his home country of England for the remainder of the campaign, while a permanent move could open up in the summer.
It remains to be seen if Spurs have entered into any negotiations with Man United, although there is no denying the fact that they should not pass up the opportunity to sign Rashford on loan.
