Tottenham planning double attempt to sign Toney and Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering signing Brentford star Ivan Toney and AFC Bournemouth ace Dominic Solanke this summer, according to Team talk.

The Lilywhites are said to be planning to bolster their forward line before the end of this transfer window. After letting Harry Kane join Bayern Munich last summer, Ange Postecoglou failed to sign anyone to replace him.

The Australian manager opted to keep faith with Son Heung-Min and Richarlison to fill the void left by the Englishman last season. However, the South Korean was more comfortable playing on the wings, while Richarlison struggled with injuries.

Now, it appears that Spurs are planning to sign two high-profile strikers, with Toney and Solanke on their wish list. According to the report from Team talkTottenham are looking to step up their efforts to sign the duo and could submit formal bids in the coming weeks.

Toney and Solanke leave for Tottenham

However, it won't be easy for the North London club to close both deals as it has been reported that Bournemouth do not want to let Solanke leave the club. Therefore, Spurs will have to activate their £65 million release clause to secure your signature before this window ends.

Fabricius Romano has reported Tottenham have opened talks with the Cherries over the deal and are pushing hard with Solanke open to joining Postecoglou's side.

On the other hand, it would be easier for Spurs to sign Toney as he has entered the final year of his current contract and Brentford are said to be open to cashing in on him to avoid losing him for free next year.

The Bees are reportedly willing to accept a fee of around 40 million pounds for the Englishman. Therefore, Tottenham will have to shell out a combined sum of 105 million pounds to sign both of them.

Although Toney was sidelined for the first half of last season due to suspension issues after being found guilty of breaching betting rules, he showed off his goal-scoring abilities in the Premier league in previous campaigns.

Solanke also showed his worth in the English top flight last season, scoring 19 goals and registering three assists.

Therefore, landing Toney and Solanke would be excellent for Tottenham if they manage to do so. However, it will be interesting to see if the North London club can finally sign them before this transfer window ends.
