Neil finally hung up his boots after the 2023/23 season after winning the Northern Premier League Division One West title.

He was also player-manager of the club in the second half of that campaign, where he won 15 of his 21 games in charge.

Danns left the club last summer to return to former club Tranmere, where he was appointed assistant coach.
