Valencia announced they have sacked manager Ruben Baraja on Monday, following a last-gasp equalizer against Alaves this weekend. However, they are level on points with Real Valladolid at the bottom of the table.
However, the financial situation of Los Che is a major obstacle. It is not clear how much Baraja's sacking cost him, but the maximum package has been set at around €5 million.
In recent weeks, Valencia have allegedly been in talks with Quique Sanchez Flores for a return to the club, but those talks have clearly not come to fruition. Relief say the new favorite for the position is the coach of West Bromwich Albion Carlos Coberan.
They are now in talks with West Brom to reduce his release clause by €2m, although the Championship side are currently demanding the full payment. Corberan is in talks with the Baggies to see if he can reduce that fee,
Sanchez Fores has a lot of experience both in La Liga and in Valencia. Corberan was born in Valencia but never worked at the club, initially making his break at Villarreal. In recent years, he has done well with Huddersfield, followed by a short spell at Olympiakos. West Brom are currently 7th in the Championship as they chase a play-off spot.
