Ipswich believe they are favourites to sign Liam Delap from Manchester City, talkSPORT understands.
Manchester City have reached agreements with Ipswich and Southampton for the young striker 20 million pounds.
Delap is believed to have been at Ipswich's training ground earlier this week as they looked to finalise the deal.
After starting his career in the youth ranks at Derby, Delap joined Man City in 2019, where he continued his development.
As well as scoring one goal in six appearances for City, the 21-year-old has enjoyed three loan spells in the EFL.
That included time with Stoke City and Preston in 2022/23, before spending last season with city Casco.

Although Hull missed out on promotion, Delap scored eight goals in 32 games for the Tigers.
If Ipswich do complete a deal, Delap would not be the only talented English player to join the club this summer.
Ben Johnson has already joined from West Ham, while Omari Hutchinson arrived in a £20m deal from Chelsea.
Ipswich are also hoping to complete a double deal for Hull City duo Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene, however, the latter also has Everton interest and the Crystal Palace.
