Two Premier League giants end interest in Kylian Mbappe as Real Madrid option looms

The consensus in France is this Kylian Mbappe eventually communicating his decision to the CEO of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who will leave him at the end of the season. Although it seems almost inconceivable that he would do it anyway, as he has left Real Madrid at the altar on several occasions, he may not have much choice but to head to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Realistically, the only other teams that could pay their salaries are located in Saudi Arabia or in the Premier League, the former being excluded due to the lack of competitiveness. The independent report that there is still a big gap between Real Madrid and Mbappe in terms of wages, but it seems that the talks continue to find an agreement.

It is not the case of Liverpool and Arsenal, who said they tried to make a move for Mbappe, but have since decided they didn't want to smash their salary structure to sign him. As such, they pulled out of the race, leaving the Whites as their only alternative.

While Real Madrid themselves have adhered strictly to a wage structure in recent years, and are said to want to slot Mbappe into the top end, they at least have some emotional strength to negotiate with. On the other hand, without competitors for his signature, the demands of Mbappe will be more constrained.
