Valencia have been searching the market for a right-back as Thierry Correia has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury. Looks like they found their man.

The former right-back of Real Valladolid Ivan Fresneda he has yet to make the desired impact at Sporting CP, and could go out on loan to get more minutes. Relief say Los Che have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season. There are some details that have yet to be decided, such as whether there will be a buyout clause – Valencia would be open to one, but Sporting CP would not accept a clause that would see them lose money, meaning that it would be at least 7.5 €. m.

The only real obstacle to the move is Sporting CP manager Joao Pereira – he has just arrived at the helm to replace Ruben Amorim, and Os Leaos want to give him time to assess his squad before giving him the green light.

Currently Valencia you have Dmitri Foulquier on the right, but there are no other natural options. Fresneda has been a part-time player since arriving in Lisbon, and the 20-year-old has played 7 times this season, totaling 203 minutes. Only two of those outings were starts.
