Valencia are set to see a much better second half of the season, now that Carlos Corberan has been appointed as the club's new first team coach. The former West Bromwich Albion manager will have a big job on his hands, but it could be made easier if the signing is done in January.
One player that Valencia have been chasing in recent weeks is Ivan Fresneda, and he has chosen him as a replacement for Thierry Correia, who is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury. It has been taken for granted that the youngster will head to Mestalla in the coming weeks, however ED say Sporting CP's dismissal of Joao Pereira has “paralyzed” the deal.
Valencia will now be left in limbo until Rui Borges, who is the new manager of Sporting, makes a decision on the matter. They will be hoping that approval comes soon as they face Real Madrid next Friday.
