This season, Hugo Duro has established himself as an undisputed starter at Valencia, and is likely to continue that way for many years to come. He had his best scoring season in top-flight football, scoring 13 goals in La Liga in 36 appearances, and that comes with a handsome reward.

As reported by ReliefDuro is set to sign a new contract with Los Che, which will see him extend his stay until 2028. A deal has not been finalised, although there are only minor details to be ironed out before it can become official.

Valencia had offered Duro a new deal in March, which was initially knocked down, causing negotiations to stall. They resumed last month, and after weeks of talks, a deal is all but sealed. The new contract will include a significant pay increase, bringing him into the second tier of earners in Ruben Baraja's team.

Attacking Duro is a very clever move Valencia. At 24, he should only get better, and has the potential to be an attacking talisman for many years to come.
