After Brighton rejected VfB Stuttgart’s latest bid for Deniz Undav, Sky Germany (via FT) reports that the Bundesliga side has already begun looking at alternatives.
Stuttgart’s most recent bid was worth €27-30m but was rejected by Brighton. Due to a clear financial limit, this is likely to be VfB’s final bid for Undav and the deal will collapse.
One of the players who is of interest to Stuttgart is Bayer Leverkusen’s Adam Hlozek. The Czech struggled last season for Die Werkself and the arrival of Martin Terrier does not bode well for his chances of fighting for a starting place next season. A move away from the BayArena could give Hlozek the boost in his career that he needs.
Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Füllkrug is seen as the ideal candidate to fill the other striking position at Stuttgart. Füllkrug’s future at the Signal Iduna Park is not as certain any more after the arrival of ex-Stuttgart player Serhou Guirassy. Other players of interest at the MHP Arena are Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo and Orri Óskarsson of Copenhagen.
Stuttgart have already signed a striker this summer after the arrival of Ermedin Demirovic from Augsburg for a club record fee of €21m.
