kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart are interested in Sevilla centre-back Loïc Badé, who recently won silver at the 2024 Olympics with France.

After Waldemar Anton joined Borussia Dortmund earlier in the window, Stuttgart have yet to find a true successor for their old captain. Oumar Solet of Red Bull Salzburg and Armel Bella Kotchap of Southampton were candidates at the MHP Arena but Stuttgart has turned elsewhere.

Badé is the next candidate. The 24-year-old played in every game for France as they reached the final of the Olympics only to lose to Spain in the final. Badé contract at Sevilla runs until 2026 and could cost around €15m, Stuttgart could afford this but a loan could be more in favour.

Stuttgart have already been very active in this transfer window as they compensate for the departures of key players as well as prepare for a return to Champions League football. The club have already completed deals for the likes of Deniz Undav to return permanently, and Ermedin Demirovic as well as adding to their defence with Jeff Chabot joining from 1.FC Köln and Yannik Keitel from Freiburg.
