VfB Stuttgart view Paul Wanner as a potential replacement for Enzo Millot as Borussia Dortmund show interest in the Frenchman
Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart are preparing for the potential departure of Enzo Millot in the summer and see Paul Wanner as an option.
Millot has a release clause valued at €18-20m which is valid from this summer. Sky Germany also reports that Borussia Dortmund are said to be one of the teams interested in signing the Frenchman as Sven Mislintat, who now works at BVB as a squad planner, was the sporting director who brought Millot to the MHP Arena from Monaco.
In the summer, Dortmund poached two of Stuttgart’s players due to release clauses. Both Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy moved north.
This means that Stuttgart has begun to search for a potential replacement for Millot. Bayern Munich’s Paul Wanner is said to be on the list of potential options. It was previously reported that Bayern would allow Wanner to leave on loan for one more season to gain more experience at the top of the Bundesliga before returning to the Allianz Arena.
Stuttgart and Bayern have had varying degrees of success recently when it comes to their loans. Alexander Nübel’s loan has been a success as he has been called up to the German national team, while Frans Krätzig’s loan has been a failure as his loan could be terminated due to a lack of game time.
