Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart will try to sign striker Deniz Undav permanently this summer upon the expiry of his loan.
However, Undav will likely be an expensive acquisition for Stuttgart. The 27-year-old has a release clause that is said to be worth €13-15m, which for Stuttgart is a large sum of money. Undav also expects a pay rise if he were to move to Stuttgart.
Money may not become an issue for Stuttgart if they can secure qualification for the Champions League next season. A move for Undav could also be funded by the potential departure of his strike partner Sehrou Guirassy who has consistently been linked with a move away from VfB.
Talks between Stuttgart and Undav are ongoing and the striker is happy at the club. During his time at the Bundesliga side, Undav has been able to play himself into contention for a call-up to the German national team and is expected to play a part in Germany’s friendlies against France and the Netherlands later this month.
