Villa make it five wins from six

Aston Villa secured local bragging rights over Wolverhampton Wanderers courtesy of a 3-1 triumph at Villa Park on Saturday.

Wolves led at the interval courtesy of Matheus Cunha’s strike midway through the first period.

But the Villans launched a second-half comeback and levelled through Ollie Watkins’ strike, before Ezri Konsa’s 88^th-minute finish and Jhon Durán’s close-range effort swept up all three Premier League points.  

Ahead of kick-off, Villa Park united in tribute to Gary Shaw as a banner was raised in the Holte End showcasing his achievements and the stadium joined together for a moment’s applause, which was repeated in the eighth minute in honour of the club legend’s shirt number.
