Aston Villa were held at home in their final game of 2024, with a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at Villa Park on Monday evening.
Having fallen behind to Simon Adingra’s early strike, Unai Emery’s side battled to take the lead against Fabian Hürzeler’s men, with goals either side of the break from Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers.
But there was a late twist in the tale as Tariq Lamptey struck nine minutes from time to send the Seagulls away with a point, as Villa prepare for their first game of the new year at home to Leicester City on Saturday.
